There are a few essential performance tips that may help perfect your Pod temperature. We recommend using the power scale, similar to a volume dial, to find the perfect temperature.

**Tips for Optimal Temperature Performance**

1. **Adjust your preset schedule:** Autopilot will use your schedule as a foundation and learn from there as you adjust during sleep. If you find that you're waking up cold/hot in the night often, adjust your preset temp schedule.

2. **Ditch the topper:** Mattress toppers can act as an insulating layer, hindering heat transfer. Opt for a thin mattress protector or regular sheets instead.

3. **Give the Hub some space:** Ensure at least 10 inches of clearance around the Hub for proper air circulation, allowing the system to function efficiently. If you have pet dander or dust, or you've had the Pod for a while, we recommend dusting the Hub. 4. **Set the bedroom temperature right:** The Pod works best in a comfortable, cool environment. If the space around your Hub is too hot, you may see a warning about Ambient temperature. This may indicate that the Pod has to work extra hard to cool (which can sometimes make a hot room even hotter).

5. **Snuggle under your comforter:** Covering the Active Grid with your comforter helps trap heat and maintain your desired temperature.

6. **Schedule your bedtime in advance:** The Temperature Schedule feature allows the Pod to pre-heat or cool your side before you arrive, reaching an ideal temperature. Adjust your bed time to 30 minutes before your earliest expected sleep time for optimal results.

7. **Maintain a stable Wi-Fi connection:** Consistent Wi-Fi is crucial for the Pod to maintain its set temperature. If you encounter connectivity issues, please check our Wi-Fi connectivity guide.

**Why does my Pod feel warmer than the temperature I set?**

If your Pod isn't cooling the way you expect or seems to raise your set temperature on its own, it's usually an airflow issue. The Hub needs at least 10 inches of clearance on both sides to regulate temperature properly. If it's placed against a wall, furniture, or in an enclosed space, it can overheat and adjust the temperature to protect itself.

To fix this: Check that there's at least 10 inches of open space on both sides of the Hub.

Make sure the Hub isn't tucked against a wall, headboard, or piece of furniture.

Give it a few hours after repositioning for the temperature to stabilize.
