****What is priming, and when does it happen?****

When you're setting up your Pod for the first time, you will need to go through a process called priming. The priming process fills the water mat with water, pushes out any air bubbles, and helps keep the Pod running smoothly. While installing your Pod on the Eight Sleep App for the first time, you will automatically be guided through the priming process.

_Pod 5 and earlier:_ You'll need about 2L of distilled water. You will be prompted to add distilled water to the water tank in the Hub, up to the Fill Line. Expect your Pod to Prime 2 to 3 times during setup.

_Pod 6:_ You'll pour water directly into the Hub using the included pitcher. Regular tap water is fine to use. Fill the pitcher to the fill line, it typically takes about 2 to 3 pitchers to fully fill the Hub. Before you begin, make sure your bed is clear: anything resting on the Cover can trap air bubbles while it fills. Slide the Hub lid open and remove the cap, but don't add water until the app tells you to. Once the Hub is ready, follow the light cues as you pour: blue means pour slowly, red means stop filling, white means done filling. When the Hub is full, insert and twist the cap back into place, then slide the lid closed.

****Will I ever need to Prime my Pod again after the initial installation?****

The Priming process will only need to happen again when the Hub needs to be refilled. The Eight Sleep app will conveniently notify you when your Water Reservoir needs refilling, using a water presence sensor to monitor the level. 

****I got a notification that Priming was complete, but the Pod hasn't stopped priming. What should I do?****

Leave the App open for 30 seconds or more to allow the Priming session to finish. If it lasts more than an hour, contact support@eightsleep.com.

****Where do I find Priming in my Eight Sleep App?****

1.  Tap the main menu in the top-right corner of the Eight Sleep App
    
2.  Click the image of your Pod
    
3.  Tap "Maintenance," then "Prime Pod," and follow the prompts
