# Can I see what the temperature is in degrees in my app?

New members will, by default, have the power scale. Think of it like a volume dial: you’re adjusting intensity, not targeting a specific temperature (just like you wouldn’t aim for a specific decibel level when setting speaker volume). What feels "just right" varies by person and environment, and the power scale reflects that reality better than fixed temperature units. 

The temperature ranges from 55° to 110°F (or 13° to 44°C). Below are some temperature equivalents so you have a better understanding of what the -10 | 0 | +10 feels like:

**Imperial (°F) power scale translation**

*   \-7-10 is around 55°F-65°F
    
*   \-5-7 is around 66°F-71°F
    
*   \-3-4 is around 72°F-75°F
    
*   \-2-1 is around 76°F-80°F
    
*   0 is around 80°F-82°F
    
*   +1-2 is around 83°F-88°F
    
*   +3-4 is around 89°F-94°F
    
*   +5-7 is around 95°F-103°F
    
*   +8-10 is around 104°F-110°F
    

  

**Metric (°C) power scale translation:**

*   \-7-10 is around 13°C-18°C
    
*   \-5-7 is around 19°C-21°C
    
*   \-3-4 is around 22°C-24°C
    
*   \-2-1 is around 25°C-26°C
    
*   0 is around 26°C-28°C
    
*   +1-2 is around 29°C-31°C
    
*   +3-4 is around 32°C-35°C

If you had been using degrees prior to March 1, 2025, you’ll still see the temperature option in your profile. Here's how to access real temp:

1.  Start on the Eight Sleep app homepage.
    
2.  Tap the settings icon at the top right corner of your screen
    
3.  Select "Profile" from the menu options.
    
4.  Look for "Real temperatures" with a toggle bar next to it.
    
5.  Click the toggle to use real temperatures.
    

After turning the toggle on (blue), choose your measurement system under "Temperature units." _Imperial_ will show temperatures in Fahrenheit. _Metric_ will show temperatures in Celsius.
